New Guinea. Dance and Decoration, 1970’s
My first cultural project. Prior to independence the tribes of New Guinea would gather annually to compete in dance and decoration shows in Mt Hagen, Goroka and Morobe District. Over three years I visited many of the villages to shoot their particular traditional practices, and shot the big shows when they gathered to parade in costume.
